My psp was running fine untill last night. When I start a iso game it will go to the startup, it turns black like it always did but now it freezes in the black screen and I cant turn it of with the switch. So then i pull the battery but the psp wont start up, after 5-6 minutes it shows the green light on and starts up. Even when I use the usb connection, I plug the usb in and then it runs good but when I want to exit usb mode it freezes up to, even in the reeboot menu. Somebody please help me :(
Oh boy. I had this problem a while back. First, since you got an ISO, it means you're downloading stuff from the 'net, or having someone else copy games into your memcard. That's where the problem starts.
It's like this. I have a PSP-2000, CFW 5.00 m33-6 that's working perfectly. I can access it through USB and such without hang-ups on both my PSP and my PC. I then go to someone I know who can upload games into my memcard. I had Disgaea 2 copied into my memcard, and I got the blank loading screen freeze as well. I was convinced by my friend that my firmware was old to run Disgaea 2. Since I don't have time to wait for the update, I had the game deleted. The PSP turns on fine.
I got home, and plugged my PSP into the USB with my PC. My Anti-virus tagged a virus from the connection and boffed it. Lo and behold, there are a couple of folders in the PSP which cannot be accessed anymore, and yes, my PC just hung (or became sooo busy) when I tried continuing access.
All the while, my PSP works fine, alone (I can't access through my PC) and I choked it out as my PC zonking on me. So I went to another friend of mine who works for a good PSP gaming store and custom upgrades. I asked my friend to update my firmware. When he tried accessing my PSP via USB, same thing happened. So he changed tactics... instead of accessing through the PSP, we took out the memcard and pressed on with a card reader.
The PC still lagged, but we were able to run an AV scan... trojans, worms... turns out the folders were swept with viruses. We cleaned the viruses, but the folders cannot be accessed anymore. He had me choose between formatting the memcard (savegames lost, I know..) and be able to update and/or copy games again, OR let it go like that and never be updated nor be able to copy new games.
Yeah, I chose to reformat. He told me that PSP folders turns into different files (.sys or something, not sure) when they get infected by viruses.
Try to save your games dude, if you could still access the game folders. But if what happened to you is like mine, then you have to reformat your memcard.
I just have a probably pretty easy question to answer but for the life of me cant remember which ones to enable so that i can play my iso games just keeps saying game could not be started
