To do that you need to download the official 5.00 firmwareLINK and the 5.00 m33 patch LINK
Make a folder on your computer called "UPDATE"
Extract the 5.00 official firmware. You should get a file called "EBOOT.PBP". Rename it to 5.00.PBP and put in your folder called UPDATE
Now extract the m33 patch. Get the EBOOT.PBP file from it and put it in the UPDATE folder.
Plug your psp up to your computer. Go to the "PSP" folder, then the "GAME" folder. Copy your UPDATE folder, with EBOOT.PBP and 5.00.PBP in it, and paste it in your PSP/GAME folder on your psp memory stick.
Unplug your psp from your computer. Navigate to the game folder on your psp system and select UPDATE.
Go through the updating process and when its done go to system settings>system information, and it should read "System Software Version 5.00 M33"
You need to update to 5.00 m33-4 now.
Download the updater LINK Go through the proccess of putting the update folder in the game folder on your psp and updating. Then check your system information to confirm that you are on 5.00 m33-4.
Now you need to update to 5.00 m33-6.
Download the updater LINK Do the same as updating last time.
Now you should be on custom firmware 5.00 m33-6. This will only play games that require 5.00 or less firmware. You will probably want to play new games that require 6.XX games, so I will tell you how to do that also.
You need to download m33 Prometheus-3 LINK Extract the file and drag the folder into your PSP/GAME folder.
Go on your psp and run the installer.
Go to system information, it should read "5.00 Prometheus-3" or something like that
You are still running cfw 5.00 m33-6, but it just says 5.00 Prometheus-3.
Now you are completely up-to-date on psp cfw. You can play all ISOs up to the latest 6.31, homebrew, and even PSX.
If you are confused or still need help, please ask.
gam3r21, that won't work as the OP is on official firmware. I won't spoonfeed him, as there are already some quite good tutorials in this formu on how to use chickHEN to downgrade or put CFW on a PSP.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
If it worked on official firmware we wouldn't need custom firmware ;)
This whole updater for custom firmware is unsigned code which isn't supported by the official firmwares, therefore homebrew doesn't work on official firmwares higher than 1.50 either.
