PSP Shuts Off with Pressure

So I am playing my phat PSP CFW 5.50 Gen full and when I am playing it turns off. It seems to happen when I apply pressure to the right side of the unit like on the battery case or on the front near the start button.
what can be causing this to happen after so many years of problem free service?

check the tightness of the screws on the back and around the battery compartment, if they are not loose it is possible that years of applying that pressure you have damaged or made a poor connection on the power board.

The screws are all tight. if it is a bad connection... any way to fix that?

Only thing i can think of is reconnecting those loose connections. If you dont have a small enough solder gun, you can get one at radiosnack for a decent $$$.
