Apologies for a potentially dumb question, but I have been reading for a while and am barely closer to an answer than when I started.

I just purchased a brand new PSP-3000 and a component video cable for the sole purpose of video out, and like many was shocked to see the horrible black box that the game screen floats in.

From what I have read it is only possible to get proper full screen output via some kind of unofficial software.

The only thing I have come across was FuSa - is this the only/best solution, or are there others?

I read that FuSa requires that custom firmware be installed. Frankly I don't really want CFW because I don't want to take the chance I'll brick the device.

I also read about ChickHEN R2 - which is supposedly non-permanent. Is it possible to run FuSa using ChickHEN R2? If so, can anyone here give me the "for dummies" version of how to do that? i.e. what files go where on the SD card.

If it's not possible to run FuSa with ChickHEN R2, then can someone confirm what I would need to do?

I *think* this is what I would need to do in order:
1 - "Install" ChickHEN R2
2 - Run CFW Enabler 3.60 (Do I just copy the PSP folder from the zip onto the root of the SD card?)
3 - Install CFW 5.00 m33-6 (This is working with PSP-3000 now, right? And I just copy the UPDATE folder from the zip onto the root of the SD card?)
4 - Install FuSa (would I just copy FuSa_SD.prx and game.txt to the /seplugins directory on the SD card and somehow CFW knows to load it?)

Thanks in advance for any help on the topic. I apologize for being such a n00b.

U have to start chickhen r2 by the tiff after that run cfe 3.6 from

the psp/game folder the fusa.prx must be in the seplugins folder with

the game.txt(ms0:/seplugins/fusa.prx)

never update to 5.0m33 it will brick u`r 3004 psp this is a permanent

cfw and not for u`r model

dunno if fusa will work with cfe 3.6(theres no chance of bricking u`r

psp cause this software don`t touch the flash)so u can`t do somethin

wrong , except installing permanent cfw

I just checked the OFW that was installed in the PSP and it's 5.50 - will I even be able to install ChickHen R2?

How do I tell the difference between a permanent and temporary CFW?
