HI
I have a psp 1001 that was given to me, was purchased from a pawn shop. I was having problems updating the system. I did a factory reset and the memory card that came in it also reformatted. I thought this would solve the issue but it does not. It currently has v 3.71 in it. I have a internet connection and download the update to memory card but once that is done and I go through the process of installing the update I get a can't read card error....the system states the card is compatible and it is a magic gate. memory stick plus. I have tried upgrading to v4.00 and the newest v6 without any success..
Any ideas as to why the system would read music, pictures, older games but not the new update..(I need to update for the game Midnight club LA remix)

Is it 3.71 or 3.71 OE-A (or OE-B)?

under system info it only says version 3.71. I have tried downloading and updating 3.95 and 4.05 via usb and pc...the information goes onto the memory card but when I go to game and pull up the info I get all the way to accepting the conditions and then the error 80020321 comes "unable to read card" I have put music and pictures onto the card via usb and I get playback with them so I know the card isn't a complete failure. but can't figure out why the update won't actually install.... how do I find out if it is a modded psp....it was purchased thru a pawnshop so it is unknown if the origional owner modded it.
