PSP won't come on but not bricked...Wierd.

After incrementally upgrading from 5.00 M33-6 to 5.50 Gen B-2, the PSP starts up b
ut not if the memory stick is inserted or not inserted. You would think "Bricked" but it is not.

Power on w/ MS in gets a green power light and blank screen. The screen is on just blank. Power on w/o MS gets green power light but screen is off. You have to push the memory stick in almost all the way and the psp starts up. Basicly feathering in the MS. If you push it all the way in, the PSP behaves as if the MS was in to begin with (green ligth w/ screen on but blank).

Once started, sys info shows version is 5.50 Gen-B (Full). I can play games that were only compatible with Gen A thru Gen B2. The PSP also takes longer than usual to exit games and shuts down after exit. Basiclly it won't boot up normally.

I have a fat PSP 1001 with a self made pandora's battery and magic memory stick. I used Zzk2001's method for making the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora's battery way back when I 1st installed 5.00 M33-6. This issue arose after updating from 5.00M33-6>5.50Gen A>5.50Gen B>5.50Gen B-2. Any thougths?

backup memory stick format it in psp and try again, failing that try another memory stick, failing that try your memory stick in another psp, failing that maybe the card slot damaged pin bent etc.
find out what works and your left with what don't
