Running new games on 3.71 M33-2 homebrew.

We have 3 all running 3.71 M33-2 homebrew on our PSP's for 2 years now. 2 phat and 1 slim. Can we play new games from the memory stick (that we have naturally copied from our purchased copy of the game of course) or do we have to flash it with more up to date firmware? Tried it with Football Manager 11 and it is just a grey screen.

Looked at the sticky and it appears that the darkalex updates are not available any more as the site is down. :(

It cost me £30 for a pandoras battery and took me 2 weeks to flash the homebrew on to the PSP's and I still have them - so any laymans explanations for downloading the above fix on to PSP would really be appreciated. For an old luddite.

Any advice appreciated.

I remember reading "PSP master key dumped" and wondered what that meant.

yup please upgrade or 5.00 m33-6 or or 5.50 gen d, or use iso tool to patch your games. you can get firmware versions on dl.qj.net and they also have guides for ppl.

PSP Master keys:

These are the encryption/decryption keys the psp uses, based on this it recognizes trusted programs and runs them. if its not encrypted with these keys then the peice of code will not run.

That only appears when not on custom firmware or on firmware 1.00 or 1.50 (on a Phat of course). These master keys were just hacked, there are the first homebrew apps that can run off official firmware above 1.50.
