Ok things like this dont usually confuse me but well....i am REALLY confused on this on! Im going to try and explain what i want to do and hopefully someone can explain how i can do it :P Also is there a risk that i can break my psp doing all of this? because i did have an old fat psp and tried getting psp roms onto the psp and it bricked the psp :/ hense i have a new one lol

I've just recently got a psp slim and i want to know how i can play gba games on the psp. My system info is as follows:

System software Version 5.55
MAC Address 00:22:69:5E:6E:2F

Not sure if you need them to help but there they are. Also how do i find out if my psp already has a custom firmware?

Im a tad confused when it gets to custom firmware, not quite sure what this is or what version or whatever i need to download :S

Second is what the hell is game kernal? aparently i need to set a game kernal to the same as the custom firmware?

Well i dont really have any idea what im talking about so im just going to leave it up to you guys and gals to hopefully get my running gba games on my psp (without breaking it :P)

No you do not have custom firmware and with a slim you may not be able to either.

If it is a 3000 on 5.55 - nothing can be done
If its a 2000 on 5.55 it depends on the motherboard - you will need to investigate this as the v3 motherboard is the same as a 3000, as you are on 5.55 you also cannot use chickhen to enable it so this may be out as well.

To run GBA games on a PSP you need custom firmware, also a program called Gpsp to run them.

It would be easier to unbrick your Phat - pandora and a MMS will always recover a brick on a Phat

Apart from he has 5.55 fw and Chickhen ONLY runs on 5.03! so that does not help, to run PSPident you need CFW or chickhen
