Hey i just upgraded my psp from 3.90 m33-3 to 5.00 m33-6 and then i used the 5.50 gen 3d so i can play jak and daxter the lost frontier. I start up the game and noticed that after the psp logo appears the screen goes pink but the game conntinues anyway. But when i actually go to start the actual playing the game freezes right before i begin the fight. Any ideas on whats going on? I appreciate the help in advance.

what you need to do is change the driver, start the psp in recovery mode and then choose config. then umd mode change it from m33 to Sony NP9660-no-UMD, that will most likely fix your problem.

If you have the VSH menu enabled you don't need to go to the recovery menu. Press select at the xmb and you will see the option to change the umd mode.

and if that doesnt work? ive tried all the different drivers, still no luck... couldt it be that i went from 5.00 M33 4 and not 5.00 M33 6 to 5.50 Gen D3, that is the problem, that i "missed" some files may not be included in the update?
Sincerely dstbd

ok if that didnt work i would suggest getting another copy of the game, maybe you got an incomplete rip and it is corrupted. i had hot shots 2 that would not let me finish the game, i got a different copy and it works fine.

i have no idea why one would work and another one not, makes no sense. have you looked at the disc closely? does it have any smudges or anything on it? i'm sure the iso would work, just cant say why the umd will not. i never use them myself.

I also have the same problem. I tried with "Jak and Daxter" (ISO from MS) and it freezes at the game beginning. I also tried with "Dead or Alive - Paradise" and I got the same result. It freezes at the beginning. It seems that newer games could not be played. Until now I haven't find any solution.
Probably we should wait for some 5.50 GEN D3 fix or maybe next firmware version.

i dont know if you guys have figured this out yet, but Jak and Daxter doesnt run correctly on 5.50 GEN D-3. go download red quirrel's D-3/D-2 switcher and switch it to D-2 to play Jak & daxter :TLF on your psp.

i dont know about peace walker, but i just found the solution to playing jak and daxter and i used the d2 - d3 switcher switching to d2. easy to use, download it at psphacks. just put it in your games folder.
