Sorry for those who are annoyed, but i do have a question. I have a PSP 2001 running on OFW 6.20. I was wondering if any of you could tell me weather or not my PSP is bricked, or if I need to invest in another one. So here is th3e list.
1. When i turn my PSP on, the screen will stay blank, but the LED power light is still on.
2. Sometimes my PSP will boot up, and get to the Sony screen then shut down.
3. PSP will boot up, but when i go to play a UMD, the whole unit locks up and after a few seconds shuts down or restarts.
Please, if you can tell me whats wrong. Thank you.
First try the Pandora battery and create a magic memory stick. See if that fixes it.
If not then it could be the motherboard playing up. I had a similar problem on a PSP 1003.

Yes you cannot brick without changing the firmware.
If you change the firmware and in the middle of the flashing you lost connection, power etc then it would brick.
If you haven't changed the firmware then no it is not bricked.
What firmware are you on by the way?
This here sounds more like a hardware failure. If it was bricked, it won't come on at all, the screen stays blank and the green LED lights up. Here the PSP sometimes works, if it was bricked it wouldn't.
Before trying a Pandora Battery I would try updating to 6.30 or 6.31. If that doesn't help you can try using a Pandora Battery, but chances are it doesn't work at all and even if the Pandora works with your PSP I doubt it will help.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

5.50 gen b full. updated my sons to gen d the other day but i hardly play on mine now
Sorry for not replying so soon. My psp is running on OFW 6.20 I believe. And my PSP has died while i was updating my PSP so I could play Dissidia FF. It originally was on 5.xx something m33. I bought it used at a game store in my city , so no telling what happened to iit before that.. All i know is that i dont want to buy a new psp because of the new motherboards. I have seen HB's for flashing ofw, but i do not want to keep flashing them everytime i boot my psp.
*Update*
My psp started up last night. I tried updating to 6.30 from a friends UMD, but it told me the UMD could not be read, then it shut down...
EDIT: I was doing some lookin' around at some other peoples problems and a few have had the same experience. The replys on the tthread were saying that it is a "semi-brick". Is there such thing and is it recoverable
