Hello all,
First off I'd like to introduce myself, seeing as how I've been a long time forum browser, first time poster. I'm Aaron, owner of a fantastic working Slim PSP. I bought one a few years ago solely for playing FFT: War of the Lions, and loved the system ever since. Anyway, on to the important stuff.
One of my close friends was updating his phat PSP-1001, left it on the counter, and of course, it died mid-update. Using the WinXP mspformat method and my PSP as a reader, I hooked him up with a MMS and PB. After a couple tries, it jump started his PSP and installed CFW. I even ran a few UMDs just to make sure it was fixed. All was good. He took it home and bam, broke again. This time, when you power on with normal battery and no MS, you get a green power light for about 7 seconds, then power off. With a PB and MMS, you get all 3 leds (power, MS, wireless) for about 15 seconds, then power off. Under neither circumstance does the screen show any signs of life. I've tried for 4 hours on a dozen different methods, from my original WinXP, to all-in-one Noob packages, memory sticks made using my PSP's CFW, I tried converting his factory battery to a pandora with CFW... same results. I know for a fact the tools work, because I tested them on my PSP. As far as I can tell, the 3-lights symptom is pretty rare, as Google has already been inconclusive. I'm about three seconds from taking the thing out back, but I just wanted to post a few places as a last-last-last result. Hope no one grew old and fell asleep reading this, but I do like to be thorough. Thanks to everyone who reads, responds, or browses this forum in general!
Aaron
Have you tried using your PSP to create the Pandora battery and a MMS. I had a friend who had a similar problem, used my own created Pandora and Magic Memory Stick, I use DC8, this was back in the days. The only thing is that he didn't have the three blinking lights, only two. Hope it helps.
