hi guys now i aint no expert but using the psp i used to be able to check for updates and upgrade the firmware wireless at home.that stopped months ago and now i cant play games like fifa 10 so need to update my firmware but havent got a clue how so can someone help me please with a step by step easy guide for an old techno phobic dad?thanks in advance

download 5.50GEN-D2 ... copy the folder to your psp and run the update from the game selector... quite simple really

simply download the installer (http://www.pspgen.com/custom-firmware-5-50gen-d2-petite-mise-jour-qui-devrait-vous-plaire-article-190526-1.html) and then place the update folder in the game folder on your psp. After that run the installer like a game, it'll walk you through.

There are 2 different types of firmwares. CFW and OFW. CFW is what you need to run iso's, and 6.10 is OFW, which doesn't let you run ISO's. So you need to downgrade using your pandora's battery again, then google 5.50 GEN B download it, put the UPDATE folder on your psp under game, and run it.

ok guys so it seems like ive been a bit too enthusiastic im sorry!.i dont have a pandoras battery whatever the hell that is so can someone provide me with a walkthrough of how to downgrade again please cos i havent the faintest clue!!.thanks in advance

dazpak you seem to be an ol' dog like myself.for future reference always take your time when doing something like that and read very carefully. As Donaldo first told you you should've downloaded one of the 5.50 gen series updates to upgrade your custom firmware (CFW) you can only do that by using your computer and hooking your psp to it.(you can also use a memory stick card reader) but if you don't understand by now you've erased your cfw from your psp and no longer have it on. The 5.50 gen series is as far as cfw has gotten to this point. use google or find a youngster that you know who has a pandora's battery and magic memory stick. combined they'll be able to downgrade your official firmware and put on the cfw that you desire. also read some of the past forums to steer you in the right direction. with the newer games you simply need to patch the isos with a program to be able to play them. I can play the new games and i'm on 5.00mm6. Also you can't upgrade your cfw anymore wirelessly if i'm correct

i dont mean to hijack the thread but i just gotta ask cause i been reading forever and this is close to what I am looking for.


you said that you are on 5.00 m33-6 and you can play all the new games. Does that include Tekken 6 and GTA Chinatown wars? I cant seem to get the new v4 decrypter to successfully patch those games. Is there something i need to be doing or are those games just too new still?

why wouldnt you just make a new topic ??

anyways... why are you using decrypter v4 ?? just install the latest gen firmware there is no need for decrypting

not sure that will help with tekken but it will definitely make GTA work

guess I wanted to hang onto my 5.00 m33-6 unless necessary.

Next time I will start a new topic. Thanks for the correction.

I did find a patch for a release of Tekken 6 and it now plays fine on 5.00 M33-6
