WHy can't my PSP read the org sony Firwares?

WHy can't my PSP read the org sony Firwares? .........WHen i was doin newpsardumper thing...i had to put the EBOOT (firware) to the root..which I didand also renamed it to EBOOT.PBP but when i started newpsardumper and pressed square it said 'cannot find EBOOT.PBP' ....Next when i tried to upgrade my CFW from 3.90 M33-2 to 4.01 M33...it said 401.pbp not found...but I already put the EBOOT (firmware) and renamed it to 401.PBP and out it into update....BOth time my PSP couldn't find/read the orginal PSP firware (EBOOT)..some1 have a solution to this?? THis happened afyter i upgraded my PSP from 3.71 M33-2 to 3.90 M33-2 (I already have popsloader enabled.) THX!!
