i have a psp 1000 running cfw 5.00m33-6 if i upgrade to 5.50gen-d will it work???? it has cxmb 3.3 will it affect that or anything else in my psp i have the popsloader for psx and different emmulators and some psp games will it affect any of this???

you should not have the cxmb turned on when you do the update, this is in the NFO from team gen, but it will not effect it.

i have same unit but without cxmb 3.3, now i have genD3 plays the latest games, upgrade step by step you will be fine.
