Hi all, ive upgraded from 120gig to 250gig(i upgraded from 20-120 prev with no prob) i backed up 120gig with xplorer360 beta 6 then i setup the 250gig with the 3 partitions, i even put it in my 360 and it reconizes so its correct, then i used 250gb edition of xplorer running as admin, i cant drag and drop the files into it - i read somewhere that i should b able to, i can insert the folders, partition 3 goes thro injecting the folder, once its finished it shows no files & for sum reason partition 2 comes up with cannot write cluster error wen injecting the font folder, if i go to insert file that works but with 100gig of info that would take forever.... any advice would be much appreciated!!
update: putting the hard drive back in to the console shows 124gb free so the stuff is on there just not showing up.
I kind of answered this in the 250 gb upgrade post, but I ran into this so I'll answer it here. I hit all of the same problems.
xplorer360 has some kind of file handling problem (can't create the top level directory when inserting a folder, but can overwrite one if it is already there) . I was not able to drag and drop files or folders. When I inserted a folder, the screen would copy for a while, and nothing appeared on the new drive. Ultimately, I discovered that if you create an empty folder of the same name on the new drive first and THEN insert the folder and overwrite the empty folder, the folder will copy correctly. If there is some kind of error when copying a folder , you will have to manually create the folder, and then do multiple selects and copy individual files/folders into the created folders.
I don't know what that 100gb is, but it is easier if you remove all hard disk installed games first, and then reinstall them afterwords. It takes less time to reinstall them then to copy them during the hard disk upgrade.
I ended up figuring it out that the only way to transfer was to manualy do it one folder & file at a time. I dumped all the games so only had to transfer 3gig so wasnt to painful, i chucked in left 4 dead 2 did the update of the disc and now reloading games back onto hard drive.
