I have done this a number of times, where I am at with this is I can't get the xbox to flash 3rrod all the time. 90% of the time it just goes to the 2rrod but once in a while it will flash 3rrod 5x then go to the 2. I have my aunts hair dryer on cool taped down and directly blowing on it, everything is hooked up properly. I have spent the past hour trying different combonations of tighter/looser with the heatsink screws. Even cleaned off the chips 2x and re applied the arctic silver. Any help with other tips is greatly appreciated.

Remove the top metal washers. That has worked for me in the past with the same issue.

I did that and replaced them with two nylon washers on the topside, still no go. When I get home I'll try with just one layer of washers on the top side. Any other ideas?

Yeah thats what I was meaning, just one layer of washers on top. That has fixed some of mine in the past but just be patient with the tweaking of the screws.
