So I have this cool idea of putting flashed (plays burned games) drive in when not online and putting a non-flashed when online. Is this possible? If so how do I set this up and what would be the easiest way of doing this. (Without paying over 100$) So far I know that you can swap drives by getting the "key" (original firmware) from the first drive and flash the "key" into the second to get it working with the security. (which I don't know how to do as well).

SO can someone help a noob out?

(The reason I'm doing this is because I MIGHT be getting GOOD internet service yet I'm sick of paying 50-60$ on just ONE game when I can go rent 8 for 20$, copy them with the 50$ kreon drive, and burn them with a 20 pack of 20$ verbatim dvd+r dl's.)

That sounds like a pain in the ass. It's best to just get 2 consoles, mod one to play your backups, and leave the other untouched for LIVE. Believe me, you will get tired of swapping drives every couple of days.

Your wasting your time. It doesn't matter if you play burned games offline or online. You still risk getting banned. This has been proven over and over. Everyone gets banned eventually, suck it up!

there is no reason why it isn't possible. Just buy a Benq off of ebay ($25), spoof it as your original with ix FW on it. The pain in the ass is going to be swapping the drives, you could:

-Leave your console open (not recommended).

-Mod the case so it is easier and faster to open and swap the drives

-Buy a longer SATA cord, splice longer wires in the power cord and leave them hanging out the front of your drive bay so you can swap the drives - this is what I would do.

You can avoid being banned if you make sure to disconnect the Ethernet cable or wifi adapter from the 360 while the modded drive is hooked up.

You should post pictures if you do it or find a more creative solution. As far as actually spoofing and modding the drive's FW, just go to jungleflasher.net, download Jungle Flasher and download the tutorial. Overall this should be a relatively easy and simple process and should cost much more than the cost of the Benq drive.

I wouldn't buy a new 360 as you are trying to save money and we all know it doesn't grow on trees as some posters on here would have you believe...

Ok guys thanks for the info, jarred121 mostly, I mainly wanted to know if it was possible, and seeing if it could be easy and a good idea, if I do go through with it I would probably splice the sata, so I'll post my results after I try it, and then maybe us really cheap people can finally just rent single player games (bioshock, mirrors edge, etc.) and buy major multiplayer ones (halo 3, COD MW2) without buying another xbox. And not just that but I hear playing games not made 2010 - 20-- won't get you banned since there are bootlegs on them.

True?

(Maybe I could even make a kit and sell it.)

You don't need to splice the SATA cable - splice the power cords and just buy a long SATA cable.
