Allows you to play games via external hard drive without flashing the drive. You will still need to open the console.

1) Because you have to if you want to flash the dvd drive to play backups
2) You can get the equipment for flashing at your local modding store
3) Depends on where you live

yes and the advantages of it are full AP2.5, XGD3 and Xbox Live support with all games
