I have that reach slim on pre-order and I need to ask a few questions.

My monitor has both a VGA and a DVI port

1) When you play some original xbox games using the HDVGA cable it says that the monitor doesn't support 50Hz, but if i were to use an HDMI to VGA or HDMI to DVI cable then wouldd this fix the error?

2) can the slim even play origional xbox games?

3) is the slims av cable the same as the fat 360's?

The slim plays the same games as all xbox 360's. The cables are the same other than the power brick. Here is the back of a slimline:
