Ok so for the longest time ive been running a benq with 1.61 now spoofed as a hitachi version 47, anyway i feel like selling but wish to keep my benq. Lets face it its teh best drive out for the 360 at teh moment. anyway so i was attempting to play tekken 6, loaded up saying play game on teh dsahboard shortly after signing into live its asks for an update i accepted it. then i notice everytime i put in a burnt game it would say polay dvd. even though hooking it up to my pc and checkig the firmware was still 1.51, wierd i had to restore it to stock then reapply 1.51, it would work, sign into live the update would appear again accept it, then again wouldn't play burnt games until i restore the hacked firmware. Anyone else getting this? (oh and everything works great with the spoofed benq)

Ehhhhh!

he stated he had a benq spoofed as a hitachi...the ngoes on to explain his problem. not sure what the spoofed drive has to do wit hit.

but when he put in tekken 6 it asked for an update and he did it
now when he puts a disc in it says play dvd untill he reflashes the drive then it works till he updates againon live.

sounds like he could trying to play a wave 4 game patched as wave3 while being on live (stupid) and its looking for a missing update that isnt on the disc.

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

If that is your issue, I recommend you not play online unless you want to be banned or do not care. That update should of been on the disk image that you tampered with.

Number One... I have been playing on live with a Benq VAD6038.(Spoofed as a Hitachi v47) Absloutly working great Firmware iX 1.61. No Ban no nothing even playin COD MW2..

Number Two... The box however likes to RROD or video go out or E74 every once in a while. I fix it works great for a week or 2, then gotta refix again, So I plan on selling the xbox as is, putting the original hitachi in. ( The Hitachi can barly read any burnt games, only verbatim type disc seem to work).

Number Three... I finally get a disc to work (Tekken 6 on a Verbatim) *All my copies worked great on teh Benq no updates, or nothing no issues* Now it attempts to play, of course comes up "please clean disc" when i know its flawless.

Number Four... Wish to make sure live was still working fine. I log into mu live account as usual, no updates. Only once i put Tekken 6 in after logging into live its asks if i wish to do an update (don't have to for teh game to work just wanted to see what was up so i accepted it) after updating all burnt games appear "play dvd" as if teh drive was unmodded. But here's the catch i hook it up to my PC and states it's still iX1.51. I restore the drive to stock, and reflash ix1.51. Games work again. same thing happened again when on live. Still no ban, and i can put my Benq in and everything all discs work great on live.

There i hope that cleared things up for you...
