Activate.iso simply will not boot Wave 4 games for me. I have a Liteon drive (the older version) on this console, and have done this:
I procured the Activate.iso file
I then opened imgburn, and went to my settings, changing them to calculate the optimal layer break
Then I click to burn, and hit yes to both questions I'm asked, telling it to burn the file to the first layer only.
I then place the disk in the console, and once is gives me the option to play dvd, I remove it, and put in my wave 4 game.
The game still shows up as a DVD
Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Did you hit A to actually play it? You should then go to the white screen, and then it will tell you to put a 360 game in, thats when you take the activation dvd out.

Strange, the tutorial I watched specifically said not to hit A and load the disk, but to eject it as soon as the system reads it as a dvd on the menu.

yep, make sure you have ix1.6, put the activate.iso in, when it says play dvd, play it, a white screen will show up saying to put in a xbox 360 game in the console... eject, then put in your wave 4 game , and it should work.
thats what I do, and it works for me.
Make sure the activate.iso is burned in the first single layer though.
use imgburn 2.5.0.0 (the latest) and it does it for you. Just ignore all warning messages, and keep clicking on Yes.

I have a Lite-On with 1.6 and I have no problem with the activation disc. I've tried it on backups of both Dragon Age and ACII.
Also, I don't hit play when it comes up as "Play DVD". I just take it out and put in the backup. I've never heard about hitting A and then putting in the backup.
Also, just to reiterate, make sure you are burning the activate.iso on the first layer of a DVD+R DL or it won't work.
