i have seen lots of post recently with ppl using activate disk....what is this...i am noob and just flashed my liteon on with ix 1.6 repack...all of the games i have ripped work fine for me and most are newer games..ty.

the activate.iso disc is used to turn off certain stealth checks performed by the firmware. when wave 4 games came out, it wouldn't play in the current firmware so you had to use the activate disc first and then play the game.

that's a high level explanation. if you want more info there's plenty of info on these forums.

as of using 1.6... i thinkyou need 1.61 to not use the activate disc for any drive (or a non-stealth version of 1.41)
