I was able to update the firmware on my Ben-Q DVD drive with 1.61.
I used jungle flasher, and save the key and original firmware from the drive.
Only issue is now, I formatted the drive the files had been saved to, and now have no copy of the drive key or original firmware.
If the firmware upgrade worked, should the DVD key still be in the upgraded firmware? and should I be able to use jungle flasher to extract the DVD key?
yeah your drive will still have the key and you can certainly make a copy of the firmware using Jungle Flasher. As for the original FW that is lost i think but you shouldn't really need it tbh.
great, so as long as the firmware upgrade was a succes, I should still be able to get the DVD key? that would be the most important part I would need yeah?
Sorry if I just repeated my self with the first question, I just wanted to make sure.

yeah test the drive and as long as it works you should be fine. I think there are copies of original FW on the net somewhere so if you really want a stock fw then you can roll it back using JF, your DVD key and the orig.bin (obtained from the net)
