Hey,

First I wanna say that I'm new here, finally decided to register, because this is one of the few forums that will let you say anything about making backups for Xbox360.

I ran NFS: Shift trough ABGX, but got this warning:

Quote:
Caution: This SS contains a value (angle 359) that will cause older versions
of iXtreme to return a detectable bad response! Make sure your drive is flashed
with iXtreme version 1.4 or newer.
Can someone please tell me what this exactly means, and is this in any way detectable by Microsoft, when I play on Xbox LIVE?

Thanks for your help!

abgx360 tells you all about this. Go to the Quickstart tab and choose "Angle Deviation and You" from the drop-down list. Also, if you go to the Autofix Tab and hover the mouse over the blue i next to "Adjust angle 359 for iXtreme < 1.4" it gives you more info. It's nothing to worry about unless you're using firmware older than iXtreme 1.4.

If you follow the setup instructions HERE then your good to go. Its based on a old version of ABGX but you will get the jist.

Thanks for your replies!

I checked the tutorial, but it says that I should adjust the angle for firmware under iXtreme 1.4. But I'm almost sure that a changed angle will definitely be detectable by MS, or am I wrong?

This is the change that funksoulb advised you to change. You are fine changing this.

If you read the info given by abgx360, it says that all 360 games have the same angles - either 1, 91, 181 or 271 with a deviation of +/- 15. The angle can never be 360 or above as it's not possible. The issue with older iXtreme firmware is that because of jitter, an angle of 359 could be returned as 360 or higher - an impossible figure that's detectable. abgx360 will fix the angle if the deviation is higher than 3 and the stealth check will fail if it's higher than 9, but newer iXtreme firmwares don't return angles of 360 or greater, so it's no longer an issue and there is no need to check the box to fix it. The only setting that needs to be changed in abgx360 is the autofix level, which most people will change to level 3 as they're not ripping their own games. Everything else is fine on the default settings. You can enter in your console's region if you like though.

Ah, thanks for your explanation :)
I actually never set autofix to level 3, only when verification fails.Should I always set it to level 3 then?

If you're ripping your own games, leave it on level 2. As long as you know what you're doing and you're ripping games properly, you're better off with your own direct rips from originals. It's fine for a personal rip to fail verification as long as it passes the stealth check, and level 2 won't force an autofix in those circumstances.

If you're obtaining games elsewhere then always use level 3, because then if a game is in the database abgx360 will always make sure that the stealth files match up with the verified rip. It's also wise to wait until games verify before burning them, then you're minimising the risk of getting banned.
