I wasn't talking about that. Emulators don't require you to go to the store, yet you can play many systems on them.

Guess you don't have much of a rebuttal.

And gameover9:

Why don't you just boot up your PS3 emulator and play Uncharted 2.

I'll be waiting to hear how the game is. I'd also even be interested to see your Ps2 emulator working flawlessly in action.

Do you even know how emulation works?.

You need 100 times the power of the CPU so Super Nintendo is running at something like 3.58 MHz so a 350 MHz CPU was powerful enough but on a PS3 at 3.2 GHZ you would need 320 GHZ... Let me know where you can buy a computer that powerful I'll be waiting.

I'm a software engineer so I do find amusing the responses in this thread and close-mindedness.
For being a software engineer you sure do have a minimal grasp on the english language. This entire conversation has been about cracking proprietary software. It's already been stated cartridges were cracked (SOMEONE MADE A DUMPER FOR IT) and "blank cartridges" weren't exactly sold in stores. Same concept applies here.

I also liked this statement "For one clearly you did NOT read the post thoroughly considering the fact that I said it would be on a media NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE in the stores."

If it wasn't available for sale it would never be made to begin with. Not to mention if another gaming company came along they would have to use this proprietary disc/media and get the rights to do so otherwise their product would be using an "inferior" media. It would basically just monopolize the entire industry.. not a good thing.

*edit*

Just noticed he was suspended :(

Hey thanks buddy. :)

With your suspension, you have might have time to re-read my first post. I answered your question, I just don't think you know how to comprehend the answer.

Lol good point.

Those also got easily cracked and piracy is now rampant on the PSP.

blitz10, the "fact" that you're a software engineer means that you should be the first to realize that the media format doesn't even matter. PS3 isnt pirated yet simply because price isnt at a feasible pricepoint yet. Both, BluRay burners and discs are expensive, so the masses dont have them. If BR burners and BD-Rs were cheap, I'm sure iXtreme, Team Xecuter or somebody else would have made a chip or FW for it by now. When those prices come down, I'm sure we'll see a mod for it (assuming it's still popular). New media, no matter what the format can be cracked. PS2 was then where PS3 is now. A new consoled with a higher capacity media that had burners available at retail for hundreds of dollars, but, still available. Other console's media such as PSP UMDs, and even Dreamcast's GD-Roms, were created simply to combat piracy, yet to no avail. ANY media can be cracked considering it's man-made.

If I rambled/repeated my words, excuse me, I posted from a mobile phone.
