I see that memorex has changed their packaging, is there any chance that they are any good to use for xbox games? I'm having trouble finding verbatims locally at a good price where I am so I'm contemplating trying memorex

Yes,I copied re5 into a memorex,it works fine and just like a vertabim

come back and say that in a few months when your laser is crap and need help replacing it. your memosucks are what 30 cents cheaper per disc than verbs?? spend the extra money and buy the good stuff.

to answer his questions...YES Memorex discs are good..... for coasters , shotgun shooting things, frisbies, ninja stars JUST NOT 360 games :P sorry...

Right now in Toronto I can get a 20pack of verbs for $49.99 where as a 50 pack of memocraps were $39.99. This is why I asked. Thanks for the input Everyone I will seek out a good deal on verbs

try newegg.ca should have some on there, or other online computer sites. if you have sams clubs up there (not sure if ya do or dont) check them out. where i live i can get a 50 pack of verbs for 60 bucks.

good to hear. They are a little more expensive, but everyone on here recommends them for a reason.
A better choice in the long run.

I have always used them because I know they are superior, but with the price difference and the new packaging I thought I would ask. The tiger direct employee (who I always deal with and know quite well said that they have improved but wasn't sure if the memocraps were any good for 360s yet. I posted the thread while in the store. Again thank you all for everyone input. Verbs it is

What's the problem with using memorex? My first time buying discs I got a memorex 25 pack. I've burned about 10 and haven't gotten a single coaster.
Do they damage the xbox's hardware or something? Yes, Verbatim is like 5 dollars more but I'm a cheap bastard :D

from what i understand verbatim's are closer to the original game disc so there is less effort on the dvd drive to read. with other disc's non-verbatim the laser has to work alot harder to read the data resulting in excessive strain on the laser in the drive causing it to fail.
but i could be wrong being a newb and all

Was hardly complaining. Merely asking for some input from the educated masses while I was on a shopping expedition with the GF. I have never used anything but verbs and never bitched about price. Just when you can get 50 for $40 and the sales guy says they've changed you gotta ask right?
