I have looked thru the forums to see what the current and best method in backing up my xbox 360 games - I cant seem to find a current method - nothing after 2007 - surely there are newer guides but I simply cannot find the best and latest...
any help is appreciated - and thanks in advance for any help offered
I guess what i am trying to find is the method in backing them up and then burning them so i can put the originals back for safe-keeping. But the 2-3 methods i have found seems to be taking apart a DVD rom drive and keeping it that way, but the next method doesnt say to do that, - but several threads i have read here and other places lists how to do it but my drives do not seem to read the Disks. So I am trying to figure out the true actual steps i need... I only recently purchased the xbox360 and bought several games with it and wanted to try copying them before handing the controls and game system to my 10 year old. I know from past experience with the PC games how they will end up - upside down, all out of the cases, dirty, sratched, fingerprints, etc - no matter how much i preach to him to put them back in the cases i know I will lose a few... so after searching the web I have seen several ways of copying it, each way newer and different then the one before, but the last one i can find is for 2007 - surely in 2 years there is an updated way of doing it. So what i was asking is to be pointed in the direction of the latest and greatest. I found some software but no true guides and steps to what exactly i need(particular drive) and all the other items.
samsungDVD-ROM Drive that's flashed with the kreon software-you will then be able to read the 360 game with the software listed below
Software required in conjunction with above drive is free & is called xbox backup creator
next required is clonecd or imgburn to burn created iso to a DVD-DL disk
DVD-DL discs to use are Verbatim from singapore if you want quality long lasting backups
To read the latest wave 4 games in the 360 you will need either the appropriate version of flashed firmware on the 360 dvd-rom drive or the activate iso,the later i use & it works great
Yep that pretty much covers it unless you want to use those backups online in which case default settings of xbox backup creator may need to be changed,i can't help since i use originals if i go online, just for the record i've never had a failed copy or burn using the above method ,that's 150 games so far
EDIT:To burn you could use any burn prog i spose tho since i had clonecd installed along with nero & imgburn i think it was wabashman that said he used cloncd without fail in as reply in a thread somewhere so i followed suit,so i can't say if imgburn or nero would do a good a job
