I just recently got my XBOX 360 modded by a friend to the iextreme 1.51 for my hitachi drive. He tested a backup GTA4 on my newly modded console and it worked.
I just bought some verbatim DVD + R DL this morning and used one to burn Tekken 6 which I downloaded. I tested the iso with abgx with everything successful and had a successful burn with imgburn as well. I put it into my xbox 360 and on the dashboard it just says "reading" for about 30 secs before it gives me an option to eject the tray. As far as I'm aware there is no boot disk or anything needed for the hitachi drive. Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong?

abgx does not set it for you, it simply creates the .dvd file, you need to select the .dvd when burning an xbox 360 iso so that imgburn/clonecd knows where to put the layer break.

What version of Hitachi do you have? 46/47 or 59?
Also, like the other members have suggested, check your ISO to make sure you set the proper layer break. In ABGX, change the drop down list to burned DVD and put the game in the drive to check.

If you select the ISO, this is what happens:

At least in the latest version that is.

umm yea like i said before abgx does the dvd file for you,i always thought this was the layer break, cause in most cases people just right click on the file and open the imgfile with img burn and burn away

No, you said abgx sets the layerbreak for you lol
it just creates the .dvd file needed to set the layerbreak in whatever programme you use to burn.
So it doesn't actually set the layerbreak.

I was able to get Tekken 6 to play, but it appears that the 360 only recognizes it about 1/4 the time if i repeatedly eject and close the drive. I also burned MW2 and that is recognized about 1/2 the time. My actual games are recognized instantly and everytime. What might explain why this is occurring?

I'd say you probably need to POT Calibrate the laser. If you are already using Verbatims, I would try a POT Calibration.
