I am new to the hacking & modding of consoles. Up to now, I did a lot of research and tries to backup games for the Xbox 360, yet it always failed. I thought a found a solution... for a moment.
The site told me to install DVD2XBOX on my console. After checking here, I discovered that its impossible. The other option was to send the files to my computer via FTP. I guess it could be done, but I need more info.
1. Is it possible?
2. If answer to the last question was Yes, do I need to mod my Xbox 360?
If I need a mod, tell me another solution. I have the Kinect update. Please don't tell the solution of the Samsung drive with a Kreon firmware. I already know it, and I try to avoid it.

It can be done if you JTAG you Xbox 360,but you can't because you have the Kinect update, which is too new for the JTAG procedure.

Even though you don't want to hear it I'm gonna say it anyway. The only way you are gonna get the files to your PC is via a mod.
- A modded Xbox 360 JTAG: to FTP them.
- A modded PC drive with Kreon: to rip them.
- A modded 360 drive with 0800 FW: to rip them.

You say you are new to modding/flashing/hacking, but you don't seem open to taking the suggestions you've come across (on other forums).
There is no "easy" way to do this.
There is no Wii-like softmod.
There is no plug-n-play PS3 style jailbreak.
Google "Jungle Flasher", identify your drive, read up on flashing your drive, and good luck.

- A modded 360 drive with 0800 FW: to rip them. [Open to the idea]
For the modded 360 drive solution, I'd need to know a thing. I connect the data transfer SATA cable to the computer and the power SATA/whatever-it-is cable on the Xbox motherboard? Then I rip the disc?

Seriously? Go back and re-read the tut.
They never told it. Someone asked the same question as me and never got an answer. If you think I went at the wrong place, get me the link.
Dang!!!!
Flash 0800 to rip your games.
Re-flash to LTPlus1.9 to play those games.
Re-flash to 0800 to rip some more games.

Or just spend the 20-something bucks to buy a extra 360 drive to flash 0800 for ripping. This will also minimize the chance of a screw-up during all the re-flashing.
Can someone close this thread? I opened the Xbox and found out it's the 73 firmware of the LiteOn, which my dad refuses to let me flash because of the things it could do (RS232 to TTL; claims to be too much complicated/dangerous). And it's HIS Xbox.
I don't know how to close it, so anyone that can do it, please do.
