Is it possible to play backup xbox 1 games on the 360 current firmware (lt 1.1 now)? If not, which firmware will allow for this if I just wanted to play offline? Thanks.

There is a certain way that xbox 1 backups have to be backed up in order to play on a 360. They need to be on dual layer discs, even though most will fit on single layer dvds. It would probably be cheaper to actually buy the xbox 1 games. Then you wouldn't have to worry about wasting expensive DL media on xbox 1 games. As far as what firmware is compatible, can someone else elaborate?

Most of the original xbox games that you download are modified, due to this the 360 will not play them. AFAIK any of the newer firmwares will play them as long as they are backed up / burned correctly.

There is also older firmware for the Samsung drive (eXtreme 4.6 I believe) which will allow you to play these off single layer disks. This obviously isnt live safe though. If I remember correctly there was a decent guide about a year ago posted on here (Think it may have been by wabashman)

i can confirm that the tut posted above does work as i have been trying to sort something out for a friend who wants to play backup xbox 1 games on a modded 360.
