Backward compatibility doesn't work after latest update

Hi
I have just bourght a second hand XBox 360. I have just loaded the latest update, which went on fine.

The problem is I have a few original xbox games, which do not work on the console. When I look on XBox.com it just tells you to update the console and the update files it tells you to install is the latest system update, which I already have on.

I do have another XBox 360 which I update a couple of years ago with the compatibilty update and this console works on these games just fine. I have even installed the latest system update on this console and the games still work just fine.

Does anyone know why this won't work? Have Microsoft dropped backward compatiblity on the latest system update? If so can I still update the old compatiblity update? If so does anyone have a link to the file?

They shouldn't of but am guessing they will fix it, there's a few glitches with the current dash, its to be expected since its not been out that long

not all xbox games work on 360. there is a list of games that will and wont work if you can find it.

i know halo 2 will work but i have a copy of metal gear solid 2 that will not and it isnt on the list. so i would find that compatibility list and see if the game you are trying to use is on it.
