Guys,

I recently bought an Xbox 360 Arcade cheap for the main purpose of streaming movies into it using TVersity or PS3MediaServer.
I'm also tempted to flash it and run some exclusive only back-ups offline.

Here is where I need some advice, I know with the recent ban wave, some people are claiming that they were ban even though they didn't play ahead of retail release and on Xbox LIVE multiplayer.
This will be my situation, I don't care about being ban from LIVE since I don't plan on paying for it, but I do care that if I'm banned that my Xbox will run with limited functionality.

My plan is to block the Xbox from acccessing the internet at the router level and can only access my home network for streaming.
I will perform dashboard updates via USB flashdrives and won't bother with game updates.

Will my plan work? Is there a way to dump whatever logs I accumulated while gaming with backups and/or restore to factory state in the case I decide to play with legit copies online?

Feel free to poke some holes to my plan, perhaps something I haven't thought of. My main concern is running limited functionality when banned, Media Center specifically.

why make a thread about this? post this in the million page ban thread, and leave it all there. no need to clutter up the first page with all this banning crap.

Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

There is no way to dump those files as far as i know. If you never allow xbox to access live then you have no chance of getting banned and losing functionality. If you do plan on playing on live someday either take the chance of playing backups like most of us do or by a cheap xbox that is already flashed for 125 bucks and just use one or the other depending on what u plan to do. You are never 100% safe after flashing your xbox as we have seen in the past month.

Yeah I wish there was a way to dump the logs I been searching all over for the answer because I'm in the exact same position as you, but I don't care about live as well so I will keep my 360 offline and just update with my USB. But I just want to know how Microsoft does the limited functionality, I know its some code to must send to the console so I'm sure someone will be able to find it and correct it for the banned consoles. At least I hope so cause I think its bull, even though I'm not banned.
