Got a friend with a banned 360, would he still be able to update to the newest dash?

I recall in May that some people were getting error messages but was that just for spoofed drives?

Yes. With a game that has the newest update, or by downloading the update from xbox.com and installing it via USB.

Even if you do it usb I still got errors. You must have the ORIG drive and flash POST FW then you can update
