Only your console has been banned not ur gamertag. But each time you connect ur hard drive to ur banned console u will have to recover ur gamertag by deleting ur profile as it will be corrupt when u reattach it to ur unbanned console.

I have 2 modified elite xbox 360 and I have done updates to both of them prior to that massive ban a couple of weeks ago. One of my xbox 360 is banned because I tried connected it to live. The other one (isn't banned) yet - might as well be, because I know if I tried connecting...the first thing it's gonna show is banned. So, my question to you all is...I don't want to buy another xbox 360 arcade anytime soon because I don't have the money. However, my main profile is stored on the banned xbox. And I read about all this talk about first thing I have to do is to unplug my hd and connect it to an unbanned xbox. Now in my situation, does my other xbox (unbanned) work? So far I have been playing on the other xbox because I read that if I continue playing on the banned one, any game data, saves, and acheivement pts from the moment it's banned will get corrupted. So if I continue playing on my other modified xbox and not connect to live, does that mean when I finally buy a 3rd xbox, those game data will still get corrupted?

OK.. let's clarify this...

You have a modded 30 and monday the 1st it gets banned.... you continue to play if offline unitll the 15th. On that day you get a new console. Every stat, gamerpoint, saved game you get on that banned console will be corrupted (it is linked to the console's ID).

If you get a new console and throw the hard drive on it and expect to just pick up where you left off it won't work. If you go tot he system blade, down tot memory, select HDD, and go to profiles, it will have 1 entry listed as CORRUPT (this is youy GT). You gave to delete the GT. It will ask if you want to delete the GT or everthing associated with it. Just delete the GT. Then recover the GT and you're set. The only thing you'll lose are all the progresses between the day you were banned and the second you recovered your tag.

-------please keep in mind.. If you place your good hdd on a system that has been banned, it will not save anything and you'll have to repeat this. I pluggeed mine into a fiend's last night that I didn't know was modded or even banned and I got the corrupt profile today and had to delete and recover. Not a big ordeal, but if you work for a long period of time getting through games and getting gamerpoints, it would be rough to not get any credit for them.

Basically if you have a banned console... just get a memory card and play it locally or system link as noting you do on that console canm EVER be used on any otehr console.

Ok.. here's a answer to all questions/concerns.. I hope..

Ok a banned xbox is only good for local and system link play. ANY hard drive thrown on this banned console for anything will result in AT LEAST a corrupted gamertag file. ANY games played while connected to this banned console will not be accessible from the unbanned console (modded or not). Disks will not load onto the HDD.
Like I said, use the banned console for system link or games you do not care to post to xbox.com (gamerscore) If your console is banned and you give a rats butt about ever playing online again - just play as you would normally. throw in a disk and game away.
Like mentioned if you go to a friend's house and throw your "banned" HDD into his unbanned console, you will not be able to play from ANY of your saved games AFTER the ban date AND you'll have to do the profile delte and recover your GT EVERYTME you use this HDD on a consoel other than your- becasue every other console will see your GT as CORRUPT.
Only the same banned console and HDD will work 100% with each other.
A legit console will not read the banned data (any info added to the HDD after the ban is banned content.. all previous info is clear and can be seen on any console), BUT a banned console will read every bit of data from a unbanned one ( but will corrupt the GT and any data added from that console)
Basically do not expect to play game X and get 1000/1000 pts and plug it into a legit console and upload it to xbox.com, and do not let your neighbor use his unbanned HDD on your banned console.

You can do this on the Hard drive tho, get a unbanned LIVE ready console.. Plug in the banned HDD and fire it up... go to the dashboard, go to my xbox, slide to settings, go to memory and selct the hard drive and press A. now go to PROFILES. Select your GT (should say corrupted data) now delet it... it will give you the option to delete it AND anything associated with it or just the profile).. just delete the profile. NOW while still in the HDD area, go to GAMES and look at your games.. I would honestly delete ALL games you played or accessed since the ban -they're corrupted and will not access alot of DLC or like the rockband/GH games will not access the exporting of song tracks. Just kill them all.
Now recover your gamertag and the HDD is all set. All games up to the BAN date are still good. Now just play on an unbanned ( can be modded or not) console.
You can alos just reformat the entire HDD if you do not care about saved game data...just use th eformat option and it will clear out the whole HDD to new stauts. Remember any DLC you bough is still yours.. just go back into LIVE om any unbanned console and redownload it FREE.

I have 3 now... 1 unmodded one, 1 modded one that has NEVER been on LIVE that I play backups on and the banned one.. The banned one just gets played when friends are over and we play local or system link. I can still play in the unbanned one and swap the drive tot the unmodded one and get on live and it will update my progresses and allow me to get the dlc for the games.

SO in closeing.. ANY GT will get corrupted by using ANY HDD on a banned 360.
Any data post ban date is worthless for anything other than playing it on that same console the hdd was plugged into at the time of the ban. Any data befor the ban date is safe to play on any console - but you won't be able to sign in to your GT, beacuse it's corrupted
Can not install games onto the HDD
Can not use windows connect either
A banned console is only good for a dvd player, local play or system link.

Hope this helped and disn't stir up more confusion. Sorry for being long winded as this is ALOT easier to do vocally than is it to explain via typing.

I have read through this a couple of times and don't see the answer...

Banned Xbox, bought new one and put HDD in the main gamertag is not there, went onto XBL but it states when I try and recover "not enough hard drive space". There is loads if space on the drive..

any ideas..

Torry

Still hookup the HDD to the unbanned one ( with no games in the tray) turn it on... from dashboard go to my xbox and go al the way over to the right....system. hit A. go to memory devices (storage) and select the HDD... go to profiles and delete profiles... just the prifiles.
Now exit all that can recover GT

That's all there is... takes less than 1 minute minus the actual recovery of the GT
