Probably about 4 years ago I had my xbox 360 hacked and was playing "backups" on live. I was patching the games with mac software used on here. Once it got banned I stopped doing that, bought a new system, bought games and haven't turned on my old xbox in years. So the other day I found my old system in the closet but it's got the old firmware on it etc. My question is since I've been out of the loop for many years, can I still download today's games and play them on the old system or do I need to somehow update the firmware on the xbox and is there a different procedure or software I need to use to play games again?

LT + 1.1 is the latest firmware for the Hitachi drives and you can play any game on this firmware.

There are some games that have AP 2.5 (Anti-Piracy version 2.5) but you dont need to worry about this as AP 2.5 does not effect Hitachi drives and it has also been beaten so its possible to play these games with the latest firmware and dashboard.

You use ABGX to scan the game ISO and it will automatically patch the ISO with what ever necessary patches need to be applied if you are going to play online.

Thanks for the response. I'm running a Mac so I have no way to reflash the drive unless you can do this by USB or disk. This console was already banned so it will never go online. Can I play new games on the old dashboard etc?
