yes, you would follow the guide for flashing the benq since it is a benq. I'm not so sure that you would be safe on Live. I've read that spoofing is detectable, as Live checks the OSIG(basically the model drive that came with that particular 360), which is liteon in your case. If you don't play on live, or if you're not concerned with getting banned, I'd say go for it.
all you need to do is save your key, flash the benq as stock, the reflash it by inserting only the key onto the drive, do not spoof it as liteon, just right the key to the benq and then flash it with ltplus1.1, you will be fine.
I did a similar process a while back but I?m getting seriously confused by the definitions here:
I spoofed a Benq as a Hit 79 with LT 1.2
I re-flashed the Benq with LT + using the Hit key in the source and LT+ in the target etc.
What?s the fundamental difference between a spoof and the process you describe here?
Should I have restored the Benq to stock before re-flashing with LT+? I?m pretty certain I didn?t.
Know these are dumb questions but just had to ask.
Thanks
Doesn't matter. Spoofing isn't safe on live. If your games boot, you spoofed it right. The point in spoofing is so you can use a different drive in your 360. Without spoofing the keys will not match the cpu key on the board and therefore games won't boot. You would have a DVD drive.
i have written about 60 drives just using the key and not spoofing the drive, it will work, i always flash back to stock, load the key only and then flash with lt, works perfectly, if you try to spoof it as another drive new dashboards will pick that up.

Thanks again. It's just strange that I flashed a Hit 79 with 1.51 and then had to return to stock before being able to reflash with LT+1.1 for Hitachis. However I spoofed the Benq as the Hit and flashed with LT 1.2 and was then able to reflash with LT+ for Benq without having to restore to stock FW. It's the inconsistency that's bugging me.
Or am I making life more complicated than it already is!

Different drives have different methods to their madness, that's all. Some are a 2 step process whereas others can be up to 5 steps.

OK Thanks
Still confused about:
1) difference between spoofing and "just using key".
2) When you have to return to stock before reflashing and when you don't.
