This is my first thread, unfortunaly it is not to tell something good, but ask for help.
I have XBOX360 Elite with the BenqDVD ROM, and it had the iextreme 1.41 flashed. I use the tutorial on the iextreme page to make the update from the firmware.
Using step by step, of the tutorial, have made the backup of the firmware using DOSFlash32, used jungle to make the spoof and then i open again the DosFlash32 and it apear a sign telling that it will force something i dont remember right know.
I make the erase, then the write procedure. When he is writing it gave me a message "Write Error" and stop. I try then to put the backup of the firmware but nothing happens, and know the green light of the XBOX is always flashing and freeze my pc. I can't do nothing.
Please help, i know im newbie on this but here where i am there no one to do it.
Is there any way to solve. Is there the possible to put another DVD-ROM like Samsung ?
As long as you have the original firmware or DVDkey you will be fine. Since you said it is freezing, I'm assuming you are using the VIA SATA card. If so, you will need to remove the driver to keep Windows from freezing.
1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.
Once you re-boot, connect your drive back up and open DosFlash32. It should detect your BenQ and go ahead and auto Intro to the drive. You may need to power cycle the drive. Once you have status 0x73, in the drop down list select Write and it will ask you for the firmware. Navigate to the firmware and select it. It should start writing and your problem should be fixed.

I have recover, my XBOX360 because i am living in Angola, i have make a call to Portugal, to the guy who has made my first flash to my xbox360.
Fortunaly he has make a backup of the Original Firmware of the Benq.
Used your metod and works fine. Then i have made the upgrade to ixtreme 1.6 using your JF walk-through for <BenQ>.
All fine, will do know the test.
