Do I need iprep? I iprep'ed a flash drive, but do I need it? Can I flash from windows?
Sorry for all the questions, what's the easiest way to flash specifically for upgrading an already flashed BenQ from i believe ixtreme 1.4 to 1.6 using Windows 7 64bit?

all the programs i need
just want to know what to do next, it seems most tutorials only deal with jungle flasher, or deal with stock drives, or deal with 32 bit lol

Just have your BenQ connected to your PC and then start up DosFlash64 v1.8. I believe it will disable your PC's DVD drives temporarily and then try to Intro your BenQ. Since it is flashed it should automatically gain access to the flash chip. Set your task to Read and then read the firmware. When it is done, close out of the program and it will Outro the drive and probably ask you if you want to re-enable your PC's DVD drives.
Open up JF and prepare your firmware (spoof drive info from 1.4 to 1.6) and save a custom firmware bin.
Open up DosFlash64, let it Intro your drive. Set the task to Write and hit Write Flash, it should pop up a box asking you to navigate to your bin file, do so and then click OK. It will flash your BenQ and then close out of DosFlash64 and you are done.

Ok, I'm back, didn't work.
My mobo has 2 sata ports on board, I tried both of them but dosflash couldn't find it. I tried power on, power off on the xbox, both ports, nothing. For some reason it seemed like it was only finding IDE ports.
I do have a VIA pci card though that I found from the first time I flashed, I pulled it out of some old stuff and installed it.
So now what do I do differently? Or is it the same process?
Also what's this problem with via drivers I hear about?

You don't want the VIA driver installed. Get the VIA PCI SATA card installed and give it a go again.

Didn't work again. This time it said it worked, but when I tested a game out, same old xbox screen thingie.
I deleted the VIA drivers.
This time Dosflash64 did find something. It said it found a BenQ drive but it had to use some Magic28 thing, so I said yes. Then I did the read, went to JF, did the prepare thing, then went back to Dosflash, pressed write, then it said flashing complete. Tested it, and nothing.
Was I supposed to write the source firmware, or the target firmware in JF? Cuz I wrote the target firmware, the ixtreme 1.6.

If you are getting the white screen that says "Put this game in a XBOX 360", you might want to double check you have a valid key.

Wait, I think I knew what I did wrong. During JF I didn't save to file, cuz I assumed it just overwrote the target FW automatically. I'll try again.

Once you spoof, you must save a CFW bin and then flash that.

Yup that was the problem, I didn't save it.
YAY tested, and working.
Thanks so much leerage. This flashing went a lot smoother than the last time I did it.
I wonder if booting up my xbox with the wrong dvd key is going to cause me to be banned from live. :\ I really hope I don't, but hey it comes with the territory.
To the other guy, yes, this method will work. :D
edit: LOLOLOL of course I have to screw up yet again. Snapped the case together without putting the dvd open button thing back on. fffffuuuuuuu
lol i'll just leave it off for now, and use the dashboard open thing
