I have a BenQ drive (I think at least) that came from one of the new Modern Warfare edition 360s. I'm trying to mod it, but am having difficulties. I successfully modded an older BenQ drive not but a week ago with the same set up and programs. This drive has me stumped.
I have the drive hooked up to my computer through one of the ports on the motherboard. (I know this works) and and using DosFlash32 to try to read the old firmware.
When ever I hook the 360 up and start Dosflash, a window pops up about sending vendor information. I know this is normal for some, but with my last 360 I didn't come across this problem. So I click "Yes" and try turning off and on the 360. But it just hangs there. I can't get it anywhere other then that.
I'm 99.9% sure that you have a lite-on drive. More than likely, it's the 8 series v2, or the 9 series which requires cutting traces on the pcb in order to dump the firmware. To flash, you need to solder the traces back together or use a silver conductive pen. Just to make certain you have a lite-on, look at the face of the drive. Now, at the lower right hand corner there is a small hole. If the wires are yellow, it's a lite-on. If they are white, it's a benq. There are a ton of tutorials on here if it's a lite-on. Good Luck!
