BenQ drive not Reading discs

Hi guys seems a few days ago my DVD drive packed it in and stopped reading all discs except for the Halo 3 (original)and even when i play this it won't load the campaign it just lets me play custom games.

I opened it up to see what was going on and tryed calibrating the POT.It now reads DVDs as well as the Halo 3 disc but none of my other games. I've adjusted the pot to around 2.8k ohms but i don;t want to go any further in case I fry the laser and it isn't the real problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Replace the laser then put the pot back on the default setting

That or replace the drive. Laser is shot as mentioned by w00ly

Thanks guys, found a laser replacement on ebay i'll probably give that a go will see what the craic is with it

You shouldn't need to re-adjust the POT since they will already be set on the new laser. Here is a full guide on replacing lasers:
