basically i have not got a pc with sata connectors but i do have a sata to usb cable. I was wondering if i can use that for flashing with Jungle Flasher. Is there any harm in trying or will it just not show up, i mean what would be the worse that could happen

You won't brick it trying to read the firmware. The worst thing that could happened is the drive wont be detected by Jungle Flasher.
