hi guys, a brief history first.
xbox360 with benq drive running ixtreme 1.4:

have tried to flash with ixtreme 1,6 using jungleflasher, drive is powered by xbox and sata cable to pc. the pc finds the drive no problem.
the drive will unlock sometimes and sometimes it wont. when it does unlock it wont read the firmware in any way shape or form, i am pressing the device/intro button before the read button as per jungleflasher guide.

this is the first time i`ve attempted a flash, i was wondering am i missing something out or not doing something in the right order?

any info would be great.

regards
glenn

ps the pci sata card is a VIA6421 chipset T6421A.

By 'unlock' do you mean that you are putting the drive into mode B?

As long as the chip properties are showing after you've clicked intro then you should be able to read drive. Just make sure you've got the properties showing.

ok, firstly there is a button with "unlock benq" on it, in the jf guide this is the first button to be pressed after hitting the MTK flash32 tab.

the chip properties show as correct, but it just will not read anything, all that happens is jf freezes and the good old program not responding message appears. i am running vista, i have removed the via drivers, i have installed portIO32.

i just can`t get the program to read my drive. if you need anymore info i`ll try my best to give it to you.

In all honesty, JF sort of sucks for reliability. It is convenient, but that is about it.

Get Firmware Toolbox and try that. It is a much more reliable program. Whenever I have a problem with JF, I use Firmware Toolbox and it always works out.

Ha... yeah, sometimes it's like that. Success is success, though. Good job and way to be persistent.
