Hey guys so i participated in the halo reach beta and was accepted as one of the live audience beta testers... unfortunatley i have a fat xbox 360 with a liteon 93450c drive that was flahsed to LT 1.1 (not lt+ firmware) so i avoided ap 2.5 games for awhile until the update hit and it flashed my drive to a new stock firmware!!! It flashed it to a new firmware 0251c. Anyways I am attempting to update my drive back to the new lt+ firmware in a hope to restore backup use. I can use my original 93450c bin file (with dvd key) and create it and flash it.. Is that all you guys reccomend? because then my drive will show that its back on 93450c firmware. Im holding on testing anything till I get a solid response from you guys. You guys are the best thanks! looking foward to your response!

yeah i'm the man

Is your drive ONLY flashed when you update or are there checks for the new F/W every time you power up the xbox?

I got accepted for the live beta updates as well. I've noticed that every couple of days there is an update that you have to do or it kicks you off live. Since the beta released I've had to do it four times. I'm not sure why they are doing it, maybe to keep reflashing drives incase you flash it. I have a slim and can't flash mine back right now.

I hope they don't start doing this all the time, where it updates your drive every couple of days. It would be very annoying.

Keep in mind that you are in a beta, though. So updates should be expected as MS will be throwing out patches for any kinks and bugs.

Did you flash your drive back to lt or is it still stock?

No I wasn't able to flash my drive back. I hooked it up to junglefalsher and it reads it as a new firmware 0225 or somehting like that and jungleflasher can't find the key.

Ya that's true about the updates. I didn't think of that. I'd like to know if someone in the beta flahed their drive back to lt and then, when another patch comes, if it flashes it back. The patches don't take long either, probably around 2 or 3 minutes.

The new halo reach might not have the new disk format. This is why it works. Keep an eye out when you go online. MS may 'ask' your machone what FW the drive has and what dash it has as well. If you have the new dash and old FW, ban-city(probably). Just be safe!

Nope the beta halo reach disc is definatley one of the new disc formats (xgd3). My kreon drive doesn't even know what to think of it lol also the space allocated for the disc is different than most normal dvd's. It could be my theory but I think ms did it to prevent people from getting their dvd key. Since I already had mine all I did was load my old firmware with my key and patch it to ixtreme lt+ 1.1 than reflash. So far so good guys! My box has updated twice since yesterdays flash and it's still the ixtreme!

Maybe the firmware guys can spoof the LT fw to look like the new FW and M$ will leave it alone.

Yeah you need to get a stock firmware of the new liteon version and flash to in order to update.

I've been looking for days for it because I am in the same boat but no one has uploaded it. If someone dumped their drive after going to the beta, they can upload that firmware for others to use.
