My 360 is using dashboard 2.08955.0 with the swap disc to play WAVE 4 games.
I tried to play my copy of Brink and it has a required update. How will this update effect my system.
Don't bother telling me to not even bother trying Brink, I want to see for myself.
My console is banned so no need to worry about that.
John

Hola,
So (with the risk of sounding a bit dumb) if I update the system with the included update on the brink disc (or the mortal Kombat one, or Crysis 2 or anything similar) I won't be able to play backups of the above games? I was under the impression that updating the actual system would result in my not being able to play any backups? I'm currently running dashboard 2.0.12611.0 and can play pretty much everything barring very new games.
Thanks in advance for the help, it's much appreciated.

You wont be able to play the games listed above as they have AP2.5 and need you to have LT+ in order to boot them. All other games will be fine if they you use the activation disk or wave patch them

You don't get banned overnight. Your console may have been flagged for the next ban wave, which usually doesn't happen until the Fall update hits.

I thought that if I ripped the games myself from originals using the LG Kreon drive, the games did not need any kind of extra stealthing. I still got banned during the MW2 wave.

Kreon drive uses SSV1 which will get yor immediately flagged on xbox live since all backups now use SSV2 which can only be extracted with a ixtreme 1.6 0800 drive.
Im curious on how you got banned...is it beacuse you did a dashboard update and your console had ixtreme 1.61?? or is it something else

My 360 was stock with dashboard 2.08955.0. I flashed it myself using ixtreme 1.6. I ripped burned my own games from originals using kreon drive and XBC. I had only Live Silver and only had Gold during the trial. I had never played multiplayer online, just single player add-ons. I hadn't used the 360 in a few weeks and when I turned it on a few days before MW2 came out, a message said I was banned.
As far as I remember, thats how it happend.
I used the Brink update and the Brink backup works along with all of my older backups.
I found out for mysely that Brink is not my kind of game.
