Hey, Im pretty new to burning xbox 360 games, Ive done it in the past successfully but now forgot if im using the same procedure/programs. Ive unsuccessfully tried 2 versions of halo reach and burnt the .iso file onto the recommended verbatim DL disc that worked fine for me before. Ive tried using cloneCD and the xbox 360 game burner (suppose to do all that sector stuff automatically) however when I insert the disk to the xbox, it says playing dvd (doesnt load game picture and give option to play GAME), the screen goes black like its about to start the game and then it freezes on the xbox 360 picture that loads up when you first turn on the xbox. If I press anything on the control the DVD playback controls come up as if its a video but nothing happens. Im not sure how my system was modded but I think it has to do something with the DVD drive, no changes in hardware, just some sort of software crack, never has caused any issues with xbox live and ive never had to turn it off or on (dont even know if theres an option for that). It seems and plays just like any normal xbox just that I used to burn and play games that I didnt want to play on live with. Sorry for being so dumb in the topic, like I said im very new to this. Also, I have previously burnt 4 games before that worked flawlessly, just dont remember if I did anything before burning it on cloneCD or xbox 360 game burner.
PLEASE keep in mind that I am very new to this topic, so please try to dumb things down for me. THANKS!!
If your 360 game consists of an .ISO file and .DVD file, all you need to do is select the .DVD file in ImgBurn, set the burn speed, then hit the burn button. You really can't go far wrong there. If you associate .DVD files with ImgBurn in Windows, you can just double-click .DVD files in future to open ImgBurn.
The other thing to check is which modified firmware is installed on your 360's drive. Some older firmware won't play the latest games.

Thanks so much! How do I check my firmware version?
When was it flashed and who by? You might want to ask whoever did it.
If you try using ImgBurn to burn games and they verify OK (ImgBurn will verify the burns as long as you don't uncheck the Verify box), try burning an older game. If an older game plays, but a newer one won't, yet both of the burns are fine, I'd say it's almost certain that you need to update your firmware.

In addition to the advice that funksoul is giving you, I would recommend taking the time and effort to do anything else hacking-wise yourself. Firstly, you know exactly where you are if something goes wrong, secondly, especially with this procedure, you know exactly what firmware version you are flashing onto it and thirdly, it gives you an amazing insight into the device that you are modding/exploiting.
