If stealth and security aren't an issue for a console that has already been banned, are there any steps I *must* take beyond just burning the ISO?

Also I'm borrowing a fairly older banned/flashed 360 from a friend right now. It was manufactured in 07 and I'm not sure which version of iextreme is on it. From what I gather, older versions do not allow you to play newer games. If you could off the top of your head list a few games I could try on it to test whether it can play them or not?

depending on what version of ixtreme you have you might have to make sure the right flags and stealth checks are there. run your isos through abgx and you should be fine. if you can't run newer games then you need to get the activate.iso disc.

But the activate.iso disc only works for 1.6 and above.
Try a wave 3 game if that doesn't work you're on 1.5 or lower.
If it does work then you're on 1.51 or higher.

I do, too. There are still reasons for it. First of all, maybe the rip was completely flubbed and it is just too messed up to play in the 360, or it is the wrong region. ABGX will save you from burning a coaster in that case.

Also, if you ever do get a new 360 to play online, it is nice to know that your current games collection will be good to go for it.

The only thing that ABGX will not do, however, is verify SSv2 (or newer waves, but at least it won't patch it the wrong way in that case). So before you are sure that your rips are valid, make sure you give the SS a looksie.

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

I believe I read Madden 2010 was a wave 3 game, that worked fine. I suppose I'm okay for now then?
