Ok so I have used imgburn and xbox backup creater to burn games off of TPB and any of them that I try play comes up as dvd. I modded my 360 awhile ago bout 2 years ago, but I should still be able to play new burned games. All my current burned games work fine no issues, I was wondering if I was burning it wrong or something. Anything is good, Thanks

if you modded your 360 2 years ago, its very likely that you need to update your firmware to the latest version. Usually the xbox will say play dvd when the game is a newer wave than the firmware can play.
Ok so I have everything I need, but now I am trying to just hook up my 360 dvd drive to my computer using a sata cable and having it be powered by the 360 itself. Either the drive will not be recognized or on start up if I just have my 360 drive and my computers HDD plugged up it just freezes at the dell screen. Any ideas why this may be happening?
If you already have a compatible chipset on your mobo, then no. However, i wouldnt recommend removing the drivers if your main hdd etc is connected to this chipset...
I have never connected one directly to my mobo so i cant provide any more info on how to resolve the error, perhaps wait for someone with more experience to answer your question.
the cards are only £6 gbp on ebay or something if you do need one though.

I've had this issue in the past. The way that I've solved it is by connecting a SATA DVD drive that the PC "likes", and boot into Windows with it. Once in Windows, swap the cable over to the 360 drive and go from there.
For the record, I've only used my motherboard's on-board SATA; never used a PCI SATA card.

Sounds like it would work, sadly after I swap cables the xp machine doesn't recognize the dvd drive anymore. Sounds like I might have to go with a PCI card sadly, Thanks though.
BestBuy sells some PCI sata cards, how would I know if any that I should get?
Just because Windows doesn't automatically detect the drive doesn't mean you can't flash it. Windows rarely detects the drives I want to flash, but I can still flash them anyway.
Jungle Flasher is better at detecting the drive's presence than Windows. Get Jungle Flasher and try it out before spending money on a PCI SATA card. Those cards are wayyy over-prescribed, IMHO.
