Burning Problems w/ ImgBurn & XBC

I have tried twice to burn a copy of halo 3, though xbc, and imgburn. It writes the disk perfect both times, but when finalizing the disk it will hang up and refuse to finish, sending out errors. Now, I think the problem is the media i'm using = Phillips DVD+R DL 8x. Any extra opinions on this? I'm burning just off of my laptop(LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support). Ive been reading about verbatim's DL 2.4x....will this fix the problem?

Okay well, tried burning it on my desktop (still with the Phillips 8x DVD+R) and everything went well. But, I can only load the backup disk after the xbox is on, the game does not boot when already in the xbox during power up. is this normal?

I am dumb and loaded ixtreme 1.4 on my ms28 for some reason. I guess is should load 1.6!!!
