Adey - depending on what f/w you have it might be the prob - check with jungleflasher/seller if can -
download 360 wavespatcher -(link found on this site/google it - maybe patch game to wave 2/3 - (worked 4 me )
make sure you use verbatin dvd+r dl discs
set layerbreak in imgburn to - 1913760 - (tools/settings/write) - not sure if necessary but works same way
burn game @ 2/2.4 speed
you shouldn't have any probs after that
hope this helps............

@adeypayne, as duttymudd said, if the firmware on the 360 isn't updated, new games (like Left 4 Dead 2) won't work properly.
And I also recommend you use Verbatim Discs. That's what they were when 360 modding first came about, because they were the best quality, and seem to last longer!
If you use a wavepatcher, just know that you will most likely be banned, because M$ will see it!
And don't burn games over 4x!! I personally use 2.4x, because again, since the beginning of 360 modding it was 2.4x; some newbies say that 4x or higher works fine, but it may work the first day, but will it work for longer then a couple months?! Not that hard to wait a little longer for a better burn!
Layerbreak shouldn't be a problem, if you have the ISO and DVD files, just load the DVD file with imgburn, and it will have it all setup!
Hope this helps!

as the posters above me have said i think it would be a great idea to contact the person you brought it from and find out which firmware you are running if you arent able to open it up and check yourself but you probably are running 1.6 and not 1.61 or something allowing you to play higher wave games with each generation of games comes the wave type the more recent the game the higher the wave so if your fw isnt recent it wont read it...you can also do as others said and get a wave patcher program and downgrade the wave..i havent tried this or had the need to so i cant really give much info on it
tut for abgx to make sure you're using it proper =) also check add splitvid even if its not there cause the new lt firmware needs it
http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/xbox-360...8-use-abgx.html
and a tut for imgburn

Regarding write speed, errors at slow rather than fast
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/...=20949&PageId=9
There's a post somewhere round this forum that blew the burn at slow speed out of the water & it came straight from a verb head honcho's mouth, well it freaked me out i too thought burn slow is better, yeah pretty much burn at 1/2 the discs rated speed now & that's games & movies alls good *touch wood*

Yes, just follow the guide in the Ultimate Sticky for burning games and you should be OK. Let us know if you have any more issues.

With modding there are no guarantees unfortunately...unless you have Wii :)
As far as we've been told, the Lite Touch firmware is "undetectable." Guess I'll find out soon.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

Hi Chrissy, Activate.iso is a software that tells the drive of your xbox not to recognise disk as a dvd file and lets it play as a game i think thats how it works :-). follow these links but make sure you burn to a dual layer disk even when prompted that file will fit on smaller disk, also layer on 1 side, again you will be prompted, just press yea at prompts, burn using imgburn, then put in xbox before you try to load game.select play dvd, remove a/iso disk and put in your selected game disc, should then let you play with no probs, hope this has helped m8 :-) happy gaming :-),regards,Adey.P

If you're using 8X rated Verbatim media, with a lot of modern drives, 2.4X is not even a supported speed. If you select that speed in ImgBurn, in the log you will see that it says "write speed miscompare" and it'll automatically select the closest supported speed, which would be 4X. This is true of both of my drives, an Optiarc AD-7200S and an Optiarc AD-7240S.

That post was from me and the info came from Ian Rainsford who is the quality manager for Verbatim in the UK. It won't stop people from believing that 2.4X is always the best though!
