well i am planning to buy a new xbox 360, i already have a ps3 but since there is no possibility of it getting modded and the games also cost so much more i have decided to buy xbox 360, but recently i saw at one of the forums that the new xbox 360 cannot be modded coz ms has added some kind of update, i just wanted to make sure if that is true, and is there an xbox 360 that is less prone to RROD and also has more success rate after mod, in other words which xbox 360 should i buy?

The ability to mod is to backup your own games. Not for piracy.
The newer Xbox's are less prone.

All current Xbox 360's on the market can be modded to play back-up games. Details on how to do it is all in the sticky.

ok i have been searching and reading tutorials for the past 3 hours i have already checked that i have a sata compatible motherboard (4 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors supporting up to 4 SATA 3Gb/s devices), i also know now that i would need to buy a probe or build one to flash xbox, now 2 of the SATA sockets have cables attached to them, one is going to the hard drive and the other one is going to the cd drive, now i wanted to ask do i still need to buy a new SATA cable or i can use the one that is going into my DVD drive

I have ICH7 and have had no luck with it. If your BIOS allows you to change SATA settings, you might get lucky. Otherwise you will need a VIA SATA CARD with the 6421 chipset.

Oh no thats a shame, so now i have to buy a CK3 lite with probe, VIA SATA CARD with the 6421 chipset, a connectivity kit, the list just keeps on increasing, i hope it stops right there :(

Cheers, just resize the other one or use an alternative that fits the limits. Ta.
